Jurassic World Evolution 2: How To Help a Diseased Dinosaur (2024)

Dinosaurs can get sick in Jurassic World Evolution 2 and just like us, sick dinosaurs can be extremely bad tempered. Even the seemingly harmless ones will break out of their enclosures if they feel unwell enough. The welfare of the dinosaurs is your responsibility so we're going to show you how to help a diseased dinosaur.

How To Help a Diseased Dinosaur

There are a few stages to helping a diseased dinosaur, especially if they have contracted a disease that you haven't seen before. If you follow the stages we've laid out below, you will have healthy dinosaurs in no time at all.

1. Do a Medical Scan

When a dinosaur becomes sick, you will see a small icon at the top of your screen that is red and looks like a germ/paint splat. You will then need to get into your MVU (Mobile Vet Unit) truck that is located at the Paleo-Medical Facility. When you click on the MVU team, you will need to select the "direct control" option. You could choose to assign the task to them and click on the sick dinosaur, but that can take more time than if you do it yourself.

You will then need to drive into the enclosure of the sick dinosaur and do a medical scan on them. Do this by driving as close as possible to them and pressing the target button. If you're in range of the dinosaur, you will then need to click the prompted control to scan it. Once you've scanned the dinosaur you should be told what disease the dinosaur has. If you have already researched the disease then you can skip to treating the dinosaur. If you haven't researched the disease then you will need to do that next.

2. Research the Medicine for the Disease

To get the correct medical treatment for the disease, you will need to research it at a Science Center. You can quickly access your research by entering the management screen with 6 small tabs at the top and skipping along to the research one. Alternatively, you can click on the Science Center building and access the research section that way.

When you're on the research screen, you should see this:

Medical research comes under the "Welfare Section". Once you find the medical research hexagon, click on it and it will take you to this screen:

All the icons that have padlocks on them are unavailable to you. You need to focus on the right treatment for the disease your dinosaurs have and typically, this will unlock once the dinosaur becomes sick. You can see which illness the treatment is for when you click on it. Once you find the right treatment you will need to assign scientists to it to research it. Medical treatments have quite high requirements so you may need to hire another scientist with better qualifications or apply two scientists to one piece of research.

Once the treatment research has been completed, the medicine will automatically be applied to all of your MVU teams around your park/facility. It is now time to treat your dinosaur.

3. Treat the Dinosaur

Most medical treatments will need to be administered by firing darts at the ill dinosaur. The fastest way to do this is to control the MVU team yourself and dart the dinosaur yourself. To dart a dinosaur you need to drive into the enclosure and drive as close to it as you can. Then you need to click your prompted control to aim. You may need to change the setting to the "Medicine" option to equip the dart gun.

Once you have the dart gun equipped you simply need to shoot the dinosaur and not miss. Typically, dinosaurs will need 2 or 3 darts shot at them to completely treat the disease. The longer the dinosaur has been sick, the more darts you will need to shoot at it to heal it. You must heal all dinosaurs that have the disease to eradicate it from your park or it will keep spreading.
